Founded in 1947, Clarion Sintered Metals, Inc. shares its beginnings with the infancy of modern powder metallurgy.  The company was privately held and operated as International Powdered Metallurgy for its first 20 years in the industry.

Allegheny International purchased IPM in 1967 with the Ridgway facility operating as a division of that company through 1983.

In 1984, Allegheny International announced its intent to focus on its core business and a plan to divest itself of the Ridgway powder metal operation.  Employees purchased the operation that same year, and changed the name to Clarion Sintered Metals, Inc.  The company has operated since 1984 as a privately held producer of powder metal products and has continued to see tremendous growth while developing a reputation for quality, experience and expertise in the powdered metal part industry.

The Ridgway location dedicates 110,000 sq ft of their 130,000 sq ft facility to manufacturing. The property is surrounded by 99 acres to facilitate future expansion. With 170 employees and an average of 26 years of powdered metals experience within the management team, Clarion Sintered Metals is one of the most trusted and experienced producers of quality structural powdered metal parts worldwide.
